Mobile Hydrogen Refuelling Enhanced

Hydrogen refuelling innovation, development and scale-up for the UK & Europe

2021 saw the European Commission select NanoSUN as one of Europe’s most promising start-ups against over 4,200 applications.

As part of its EIC Accelerator Programme, in collaboration with Horizon 2020, NanoSUN received over €2m in funding to design and deliver two of its Pioneer Mobile Hydrogen Refuelling Stations as the best-in-class, low-cost mobile hydrogen refueller for a zero-emission transportation sector.

NanoSUN has since completed its first large scale Pioneer HRS prototype (P135 model), showcasing its capability and vision in the hydrogen refuelling market. Following a successful summer roadshow of demonstrations, the NanoSUN team have now begun the manufacture and scale-up of its enhanced model, the Pioneer145; ready for heavy-duty vehicle applications this year.

NanoSUN's new Pioneer145 model boasts an increased storage capacity of up to 420 kg and an improved maximum storage pressure of 425 bar.

Working with our industry partners, including Octopus Hydrogen, ITM Power and Westfalen Group, the Pioneer145 will be soon be available for end users, delivering real world impact and bringing attention to the future of hydrogen refuelling.
